Have knee hip problems but need to know how to get rid of the fat? -

I have Bilateral IT Band Syndrome, Chondromalasia, and Patellar Malalignment. Basically, knees and hips hurt with any bending, squating, stairs, or weight bearing exercises. But, I have a lot of weight in my thighs, butt, and hip areas that I really, really want to get rid of. Outside of taking pain meds before I exercise, I am at a loss as to what I can do to get rid of the fat. Anyone know of any exercises for these conditions?
