Does anybody else think that MTV's Teen Mom glamorizes teen pregnancy in some ways? -

Maybe that sounds stupid, but I'd like to see your thoughts. In my opinion, somewhat but that also depends on the person and how they react to situations. I love the show but I do feel it makes teen pregnancy look easier than I would imagine it is. I'm 18 and obviously I know that having a baby is not easy, but if I was one of the 13-16 year old girls watching the show I personally would've been like "Oh wow their bodies bounced right back to shape, they look good, their life isn't boring anymore..etc etc), but that's just my opinion. Anyways, what do you think?
No,I just think its stupid because then some people might try to get pregnant and tell everyone so they can end up on the show-as if that benefits them to be watched 24/7.
yes and no. yes because many young girls will watch the show and be like if i get knocked up and i can be on televising and make money. and no because I think it's also a hearse reality esp. last season with Katelyn and Marci and amber.
Hell yes! I completely agree.
I mean did you see Farrah. She still had a freaking life. When you chose to have a baby you lose your LIFE. None of those girls gave anything up. Did you see any of them go out and get a job? No.
They got a fucking TV show. I hate that show!
I got pregnant when I was 14. Did I get a damn TV show. No I was forced out of my house. Into a jam packed house with my boyfriend.
I know! Some of the moms make it look like its not so bad. But its up to the viewers to realize that raising a child when you yourself are a child, its not an easy thing to do. Its a struggle, and you might as well kiss your social life bye byes.
I think they are leaving out alto of the difficulties that come along with teenage pregnancies. Many teens dint have their moms there to babysit or they dint have a good job or get to go to college. The purpose of this show should be to make teens avoid getting pregnant. All of the girls on that show seem to have pretty normal happy lives and that's not how real life works. I would like to see a teen who has to live in a shelter or has to ride the bus to work...none of these spoiled California teens.
Well, they do show the screwed up side of it, with Amber for example. She has to leave her boyfriend, and she has GED classes to take, and a job, and is poor and can't do what she wants etc....
But Farrah, she's just a bad example, she goes out ALL THE TIME, drops her baby off with her mom, wears expensive clothing, and is just a brat.
I'm 13 and I don't think that, we aren't all idiots.
i absolutely think your right.. they do show all the drama and sometimes make it look worse because that's what makes TV good however their babies are so cute and they take them out to eat with them sometimes, have birthday parties and they get to do other fun stuff so i do think some girls might want to have a baby because of the show.. one thought that also crossed my mind was that i hope girls dint start having babies so that they can be on the show!
I think that it does, it show young woman that is you are in a difficult place in your life that their are always people on the other side of the TV that want to watch you. IT shows girls an easy to get on TV
