Is there anyone else that has been diagnosed with this and what has helped you the most. Mainly concerned about the CFS as it seems I am sleeping my life away.

educating myself as most docs are clueless and don't even diagnose it right--leading to a high rate of misdiagnosis

As justmeinthisworld has said educate yourself. Sadly a lot of doctors don't know much about CFS & Fibro, so its important that you know as much as possible about CFS & Fibro.

Unfortunately there is no treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but eating a healthy balance diet, with plenty of fruit and vegetables, avoid or limit drinking alcohol and coffee, but do keep your fluids up, dehydration can make your feel worse, especially the pain, pace yourself, do only what you have to do, pushing yourself to do more will often result in pay back and your twice as exhausted and in pain for the next few days.

Graded exercise, walking, swimming and Tai chi are all good, but don't exercise on the days your really fatigued and in pain, because of the pay back affect.

Sometimes joining a support group can help, as you can talk others who have similar issues, and you can share strategies on what has or has not helped you.

When I was first diagnosed with CFS & Fibro I slept a lot for about 6 months, but each day I would set myself a small goal, initially it was to make the bed and do the dishes etc and build on it when I could, my hubby did the heavier house hold duties, vacuuming, mopping, hanging washing etc. I have been lucky that my doctor has been very supportive, I think it helped she has CFS herself, and she makes sure the specialist I see are top notch, and they know their stuff.

There is absolutely an answer for you out there. Don't ever accept a doctor telling you that there's no good treatment, or there's nothing that can be done. I've helped dozens of people through this and so have clinics across the country. Go to lifechangingcare.com and find a clinic near you. These doctors are the most dedicated, and most knowledgable there is. You will have to pay for your care. If you rely on insurance coverage you will suffer for the foreseeable future. There are concrete reasons that people develop FMS/CFS. It might be a little different for everybody, but with some time and effort, you can get to the bottom of it.
