What are her feces like? A cat who is constipated strains and produces very dry hard feces. If she is constipated, ask the advice of the vet, because sometimes a cat can become impacted (meaning she can't get her bowel cleaned out). The vet should have something that you can give her to help relieve constipation if the cat is indeed constipated. Medicines to help constipation are similar or the same as those that help with hairballs. The prescription foods like CD, also are foods that are highly digestible so normally an animal on those foods produce less stool than animals being fed regular foods.

You could try changing her food. Fancy feast isn't very good for cats. Brands like Innova and Chicken soup are a lot healthier and you can find them at just about any pet supply store.

I had this same problem with my cat, we tried the Prescription Diet, C/D, W/D, the precription canned, everything. The two things that worked the best was the vet prescrbed Lactulose (you can get it from petmeds.com), this did help, and it was the only medicine that he didnt seem to mind. The other thing that was amazing, was we purchased one of those circulating water dishes (WalMart for less than $30) and it is teriffic. It filters the water while circulating it. He drinks 10 times as much as he used to. Since the water machine, he has had less urinary infections, less bowel problems, and less respiratory problems. I now have several around my house for all the cats.
