I have read that there are 7 stages to Alzheimer's Disease. When a person who has been diagnosed, displays symptoms of the final stage, how long can they usually survive?

It depends on how good their care is, and how strong their will is. If you can keep them active they can live a long time, but keeping them active is the problem.

My grandma lived for about five years in the final stage. Strange thing - swear its true - right before she died she regained her memory and was asking for my mother by name. She hadn't known who my mother was for about ten years.
