Teens are going to have sex. The decision making part of their brains are not formed until 21 - so most likely they can't even make the decision not too.
What we can do is make sure when they DO have sex that it is safe.
Teens should know EVERY TIME teens have sex they should use at least one form of birth control.
Pull-out method is not effective.
Two+ forms of birth control mixed is best other then abstinence.
I don't believe we can stop it. Its not like its unnatural for teens to have sexual urges. This is human nature. What we should work on is teaching responsibility which could in turn lead to abstinence. This is just my opinion.
No it isn't but why would u want to the only thing we have to do as adults, parents, teachers etc.. is to teach, people need to be more educated about sex and its consequences. not only do they need to know that they can become pregnant but also all the studs threes alto to learn if kids are more aware of that they might think twice about having sex...
Yes it is... By teaching them that its wrong to have sex while in teenage years. alto of teenagers dint have sex biz of religion and make promises to themselves not to until marriage. Im a teenager, and i ain't planning to do it until i get married.
Nope. Most kids believe they know what is best for them and in turn make naive and uneducated decisions.
Fortunately, it does seem like a lot more kids are starting to learn from other people's mistakes. I am not bashing teens who have babies, I just know my life would have been a lot different ((and not in a good way) if I had traveled down the teen mother route.
All anyone can really do is educate and discourage. And I mean really educate, as in not just about pregnancy and STDs but in what real intimacy is about, help people reach emotional maturity etc. But many believe that that approach is "giving up."
BTW My high school used to show a graphic video to all the phys ed classes twice a year depicting labor/delivery and venereal diseases-- so graphic that you had to have your parents' permission to see it-- in an effort to "stop" teens from having sex...and our county had one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the state after that program went into effect :P
