it's better to take the prenatal, but if you can't get or keep them down, any vitamin you can get & keep down is better. Ask the nurse @ your Dr's office how many you need every day.

Every different prenatal pill I took made me sick so my doctor told me I could take the Flinstones with Iron. Just make sure you get enough Folic Acid.

I have had two friends that took Flinstones while pregnant, one because all the different prenatal pills she tried made her sick and the other for the same reason as you. Thei doctors told them to take Flinstones since any vitamins are better than none. You need to talk to your doctor about it though just to get the thumbs up from them.

Yes you can take the Flintstones - they're for YOUR benefit not the baby's - they will leech everything they need from you regardless of your prenatal vitamin intake

I couldn't swallow them either and back then they never suggested Flintstone's like they do now - and all my babies were born just fine!

My 95 year old grandmother never once took a prenatal vitamin - they didn't have them back then and all her babies were born just fine as well!

I could not keep a prenatal pill down to save my life, they made me SO SICK!!! So my doctor suggested the Flintstones, and my baby is doing extremely well. Of course the prenatal would be better, but something is better than nothing.

I was able to get some gummy prenatal vitamins from target that I love, but they do not contain iron so you would have to supplement your diet.

To answer the original question, no, you're not getting the same nutrition. Prenatal vitamins are meant to supplement you while you're carrying a baby, and Flintstones are for children. To see what nutrition you're getting, you need to read the back of the bottles and compare.

I've never heard of it. Should be fine so long as there is at least 600mg folic acid and you are eating eggs or something with omega-3 in it. Fish does, but don't over do it cuz of mercury levels that are dangerous.
