Fibromyalgia is not an autoimmune disorderIt is believed to be a disorder of teh central nervous system for about 10 years. Previously it was believed to be amusculoskeletal condition. there was a theory taht it coudl bne autoimmune-but has been mostly discounted.there is a differnece between autoimmune and immune dusfunction.autoimmune is when the immune system attacks it's own bodyimmune dysfunction is when the immune system under or over reacts to foreign materials.there is some immune dysfunction in Fibromyalgia.i could see your concern that Fibromyalgia may cause the immune system to react even more strongly to a transplanted organ and increase the risk of rejection.I don't know if this has ever been looked at percentage wise-would the organ sharing network have info on things such as this?

There are many, many autoimmune disorders; and, although your immune system may be compromised due to transplant, what makes you think you have or may get fibromyalgia? To my knowledge, there has been no systematic inquiry into a relationship between the transplant experience (of what particular organ? at what age? gender?) and the onset of fibromyalgia. In fact, many practitioners label differing symptoms with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia; this is often nothing more than a"garbage can"diagnosis for frustrated physicians to get annoying patients out of their waiting rooms.
