Default Can teeth sensitivity to cold be associated with TMJ? - 12-23-2008, 04:17 PM

I have facial paralysis w/ TMJ on the RT side. For the past 3, maybe 4 weeks my upper and lower teeth are intermittently sensitive to cold, and also throb at times.

Yes, you could be grinding your teeth at night, causing them to be sensitive to cold because the grinding irritates the nerves. The same thing happened to me, and wearing a guard at night that my dentist made me helps a lot.

Ihave sever tmj and i have never been told tooth sensitivity is any part of it. Sounds to me like your teeth have shifted. Many reasons for that such as not flossing or brushing enough. Makes your gums weak and the teeth move even a slight bit will cause pain. go get your teeth cleaned and tell the dentist. Ive heard those tooth pastes for sensitive teeth help. Hope you feel better.
