INFORM-make the materials available for anyone who wants it. In schools and other places teens hang out. Even if it makes some feel uncomfortable, it will prevent more than any will ever know. Teach more in depth in high school classes. Send home information to parents about the importance of talking to the teens. Show them the prices and how much it costs. What being a parent entails .
Make forms of birth control available- I don't care it parents don't want their children having sex. It's gonna happen. I even feel that in some of the bigger schools nurses should be able to hand out condoms. I feel that parents should listen to their children and if their daughter mentions sex, bring them in and get them on birth control. If they want to have sex it's gonna happen, so might as well get them on BC so they don't get pregnant. Have information at schools and other places teens hangout on how to obtain birth control. Even if they are younger, they should be able to get it without parents permission, hey at least they are being safe!
Teen Parents-Have teen parents come to schools and talk about the struggles of being a teen parent. what it is all about. How their life has changed. What they have missed out on. How their friends felt about it. Most teens don't realize how much it truly changes your life and how you have to give up your freedom. I feel every teen should have to take the NEW baby think it over home. The ones where you have to actually figure out what is wrong with the child.
