How often do teen pregnancy occur in high or middle school? -
02-15-2008, 12:29 AM
There were lot of pregnancies among teens at my old school. Most didn't have their baby daddies with them. This was when I realized that most girls in my age group (15-17 at the time, now 18-20) wanted kids.
How often do teen pregnancies occur at your school, whether its in high school or middle school? Do teen parents face criticism alto at your school? Are they looked down upon and called despicable names? Are you a teen parent?
PS: This is my final question on Answers, meaning in all categories as well. Yes!
Reply: I'm not leaving Y!A, but I won't be asking questions in the future. I'm answering from now on.

I've only seen, like, three. two of them were in my math class.
No one treated them nasty, though they weren't exactly encouraging.
Why're you leaving?

My friend is now a teacher at our old school and she said that at least 4 girls in every class that she has is pregnant. Most of them are freshmen. We have 7 classes per day in our high school. You do the math. Pathetic if you ask me.

so far this year in our grade (9Th), i think there was one girl pregnant. nobody treated her any different for it, though. she seems like she's doing a pretty good job at being a mom. i go to a school with over 4,000 kids total, so there is probably more.

There were none at my high school. I don't think there has been a teenage mother in the history of my high school. But I went to prep school, and that sort of thing just didn't (and still doesn't) happen. I imagine that if one of the students got pregnant, she would be asked to leave, but even that didn't happen when I was there.
Not that we were all virgins, but the ones who were sexually active did not want to become parents, and they used birth control. The focus was on academics, school participation, athletics, and getting into a good college. Premature parenthood was not on the curriculum.
In the public school that I would have attended, had I not gone to private school, there was one pregnant girl in the senior class.

Sytistics say that each year ages 15- 19, there are 100,000 pregnancy's, 500,000 are actually born. 1 in every 6 people with have a child in there teens.
At my school there are 2 people pregnant ( I go to Private School, only like 120 people). Most of the people dint know they are pregnant, but since it is a private school when people will know about it I dint know how bad it will be.
I NEVER WANT TO BE A TEEN PARENT, EVER!!! I have better things going then to get pregnant and have a child for the rest of my life.
