Menopause usually comes on slowly, with hot flashes, mood swings, and irregular periods. This can start in the 30's, but usually occurs in the 50's-60's. Eventually menses does stop, as well as the hot flashes, etc. Hot flashes usually occur at night, with sweats, but can happen at any time. Your doctor can do a blood test to check your body estrogen levels, and based on this prescribe hormone therapy to help elevate the symptoms. Realize, this may not be menopause, but other female problems. It's best to have an exam done and check with your doctor about what to do.
