yes. although it may seem like no fluids are being exchanged, they are. also, the vulva, and its surrounding parts, are mucous membranes, much like the mouth and nose. this means it is much easier for germs and viruses to pass through. that's why we have "shields" like the outer labia, lips, and nose hair.
there is also the possibility of tiny, tiny rips or cuts around the vagina, which you cant see, but can still pass blood.
USE A CONDOM.
