well, there are different aids for different tasks, such as a helping hand, which is a stick with a grip on the end for picking things up in hard to reach places, others for pouring hot water from the kettle etc etc.

It kind of depends on where your arthritis is. There are ergonomic brooms for sweeping, special grips to help open jars, a special device for putting on socks, etc. There are shower seats to help with bathing, grab bars to assist getting off the toilet and out of the bathtub, long-handled shoehorns, sponges on a stick for washing feet, etc. There are many sites online that sell this kind of stuff. Do a web search for"arthritis aids."

yes, it can be more painful in cold, damp, wet weather , and this time of year sparks it off .go and see your gp and ask for some pain killers, for it.hope you feel better soon.also, what type do you, haveosteoarthritus , or rheumatoid, have you had a blood test to find outif, not go to gp and ask for b/test to be done.

i have learned to turn pages differently so that i don't have to bend my fingers when they are very stiffi am a belly dancer and flamenco dancer so my dancing requires a lot of"wrist twirling"and that makes my wrists crack a lot and hurtto help: i can't take medications because of conflicting diseases but when i wake up i stand up and let my body hang down as if i were touching my toes but not actually stretching or trying to do anythingsome days i cant do this because my back muscles KILL but when they arent hurting i just lean over and it loosens everything up and just gets some of my muscles'"itches"
