Age is not the factor -

Problems do not become serious issues immediately, regardless of a person's age.
Problems always start small, with small consequences.
If a person continues with the poor choice activity, life problems continue to pile on.
Also, better choices and opportunities become closed off to them.
Then later, they feel buried under a mountain of unfair hardships.
(examples: someone shoplifts, or someone overeats, or someone tell lies.
Meanwhile telling themselves, "I am just doing this only right now, it won't matter later.")
Before life gets to the stage of digging out from under that mountain,
LEARN from the small mistakes and do not repeat.
Or even better, think further ahead, like 5 or 10 or more years ahead,
and consider the long term consequences of that behavior.
Age is not the factor.
