Maybe in your case it may help alittle but don't count on long used. Elevating your legs can help the fluid drain back into more proper parts of your circulatory system. Lie down and prop your legs up so they are higher than your heart as you rest. One or two pillows under the calves will help. Be sure not to place anything directly under the knees and don't wear any constricting clothing or garters on the upper legs.Avoid sitting or standing, without moving for long periods of time. If you must be in these positions, work the muscles in your calves by wiggling your feet and toes frequently. Support stockings, by applying constant external pressure, help reduce ankle swelling. And good luck.
