Default What vaccination should I delay at the 6 month check up? - 12-12-2008, 11:55 PM

I'm bringing my 7 month old baby to the 6 month check up this friday. I heard many different opinions regarding vaccination. I'm not anti-vaccine. I'm not sure about the mercury causing autism hypothesis, but the increasing # of vaccination is directly proportioned with the increasing# of autism. That made me put a red flag on some of the vaccination such as the MMR. Are there other shots that I can delay till later?

I vaccinate my children. I just split their shots up, only 1 or 2 at a time. I do the DPT separate from the others. It could have a reaction of a fever and I want to know if my child would get a fever or not. I also chose to not do some vaccinations if I do not feel they are needed. I am not vaccinating for Hep. A. My children are not at risk in my opinion. The chicken pox we held off on also, because I was pregnant at the time and I did not want to put the baby at risk after being born. Talk to your doctor also about your concerns. Mine was understanding and explained which they thought were the most important for our area. We had mumps and measles go through our area.

There is no Mercury in vaccines anymore. While there are more vaccines given nowadays, and there is more autism diagnosed, at this point it is conjecture whether the two are related. Obesity is also at an all-time high. So are many other health related problems. A does not always cause B, even if B follows A.Therefore, what you want to consider, in addition to your concern regarding vaccines, is the risk to your child from these illnesses should you choose to skip any scheduled vaccinations. Be well.

none. you may want to do 2 at a time at seperate (by kinda close) appointments, but mercury, aluminum are no longer in vaccinationsThe doctor who did the research linking vaccinations and Autism is currently being charged with medical misconduct as the research was completely false.["]There now have been 16 separate, independent studies undertaken in five countries, involving millions of children, that have found no link between vaccination, vaccines or vaccine preservatives (namely, the mercury-based thimerosal) and autism. We have more data supporting this lack of association than for most other"known facts"in medicine. The sheer number of children included in these studies precludes the theory that there may be even some small but significant number of children for whom vaccination was at fault for, or contributed to, any measurable degree of autism. There simply can be no other scientific conclusion than that reached by the Institute of Medicine: Vaccination does not cause autism. ["]With that said, If I could go back, I WOULD NOT have given my son the HepB vac, because he isn't gonna have sex with anyone anytime soon and hopefuly he'll never use drugs....but I was drugged and exhausted after meds and 2 days of being in labor. Wasn't thinking clearly.

Skip them all! Autism or no autism, if you research what is in those vaccines and how they are made you wouldn't want them injected into your child! We decided not to vaccinate our daughter. I'm not saying never because she will have to have them to go to school but I am thinking of homeschooling her as well so we shall see.
