However, I was a teen mother. Yes it hurts. Yes it is normal for the b/f to be in the room. It shouldn't be to embarrassing. You weren't shy about spreading your legs before, so what is the difference now?

yes giving birth does hurt but from what i know u can get a special needle in your spine that numbs your "area" so that you don't feel it happening. and its depend ant if Ur bf is the father CZ if he is then ya its normal but if not then its weird (no offense). abed yes I'm pretty sure it would be a bit embarrassing at 1st but I'll end up being so tired from the lab our (hens the word lab our) that you'll barley notice him there.
