I dont get it, why do we get this good feeling when we cause self injury to ourselves? I mean, shouldnt it be causing us more pain? What is it that we get addicted to? Dont tell me HOW it feels to cut, i should know by now, but i dont understand what is triggering us to have these feelings that temporarily make us feel better.But /why/ do we feel relief? What is it thats giving us that feeling?Yet again, i know /how/ it feels, i want to know /why/ its what we feel.

Without a scientific answer, I would say because when I do it, its like punishing myself. with a scientific answer, there is a chemical within us where once we cut, the pain feels like amazing relief.

there is a chemical relases in brain after cutting, that makes us feel good.

because people get to a certain point where they're just numband they hurt themselves just to feel something....anythingand they realize that they do feel the pain, and it makes them feel better to know that they're not completely numb.....so they keep doing it...just to relieve that numb feeling
