yes, with schizophrenia it literally means to split from reality. that means that many things can be confused for one's reality. some aspects of this can also overlap with a hyper mania stage of bipolar (previously knowns as manic-depressive). one thing that is worht mentioning is that there is a difference between schizophrenic and schizoid. schizoid is a personality disorder and a totally different classification than schizophrenia.

Digging deep into the gray matter I discovered your answer. I suppose yes you can call dreams and a memory delusional but only in the sense that a person you know is involved in the delusion or hallucination. For example my mother believed there was a dead man under her kitchen. We were sure their wasn't. She also believed she saw my father walking up the back yard without any legs. Now we know that is not only delusional but also a visual hallucination. We can also have delusions of smelling pumpkin pie where there is none. Don't be confused the people delusionally believe they dream and have memories of these things. True memories and dreams will not be consider psychiatrically delusional.
