What's the difference between a panic attack and an anxiety attack? I believe I have panic attacks at least once a day. I just breathe really weird and I can't think straight...Help?

I believe anxiety and panic attack are one in the same, although I'm np medical expert. I think the level and symptoms can vary from person to person. Classic symptoms are fast heart rate, sweaty palms, labored breathing, extreme unrest, fear, and heaviness in the chest. Why don't you see a doctor, or if they're manageable, try deep breathing, excercise, and mainly anything that calms you. I hope this helps!

rapid heart rate feeling like your losing your mind sweating dry mouth not thinking straight vision seems to go a little weird mind racing emotions run thick like feeling scared worry fearor like you are going to die it is the worse feeling but panic attacks and anxiety are the same I have an anxiety disorder for a little over a year now and am almost conquering it where I can live a normal healthy life as it is only temporary I suffered with as many as 20 panic attacks a day now I barely have one a month it is temporary with a little bit of work rebalancing your mind and body.

The symtoms: A racing heartbeat and a feeling of impending doom.Medication helps and you might take comfort that these attacks are treatable and the frequency and overall symtoms lessen with time.Panic and anxiety attacks are one and the sameSee a doctor who'll be able to put your mind at ease.Hope this helps

in all honestly there really both the same ,I've suffered them for years now not a day goes by ,first you have realised you have a problem which is good the thing i did wrong in the first place was let them win over me as in staying indoors to stop them , which now results in having agoraphobia , so plssssss seek out help now don't let them win , lots of help is available out there now ,you realy think your going to die right on the spot when having one, and realy the worse that can happen is when its at its worse is you would only faint , 2 tricks ive learned myself when i have 1 and maybe help you and others like you on here is first, always carry a sml bottle of water or juice take a sip when you have 1 cos you cant swallow and panic at the same time , also put an elastic band round your wrist ,ping it hard when you have 1 cos the pain will also distract you then you will have time to collect yr your thoughts and try to slow yr breathing down , and of course the"old paper bag"trick but make sure you put it around yr nose and mouth gently and keep it there till yr breathing becomes slower , plsssss believe me nobody knows yr having one only you know ,see thats what made mines worse i used to think"every"body knew i was taking one so i avoided going out"wrong"!!!! if you are out with some one you trust tell them yr having 1 dont suffer in silence ,tell them before you go out if you happen to say to them"look im having a panic here"what they can do for you is talk quietly maybe helping you to take big deep breaths let them count to 5 ect while yr doing the excersise ,this helps realy good cos you !!! at that time cant think straight when yr in a panic ,hope this advice is usefull i wish you all the best of luck as there realy scary things but you will be fine ,but rem DONT let them win you over, fight them back its a daily case of"flight or fight"flight meaning run away like i did ........ you take real care now know you can do it tc xx

Although panic attacks commonly occur in all the different types of anxiety disorders, there is a distinct difference between anxiety and panic. The difference lies in the duration and intensity of the symptoms. Panic attacks are episodes of intense fear that last only a short while. On the other hand, anxiety comes on more gradually, is less intense, and lasts longer.
