Default Body nervous system how does it work in complex detail? - 02-01-2009, 06:33 PM

Has anyone ever laid out the nervous system in which branches are transmit and which branches are receiver? If so the process of in put and output? How does one feel something like a smooth surface? What is the transmission method? Volts, Current, pulse rate of communication to and from the brain? Please reply with references that have been validated for this research project.

Tony, check out the medical library. Some of your answers will be found in a book on physiology. You might find one written specifically on physiology of the nervous system.

Agree that you need to do your own research for this project. The nervous system is not a series of wires - the impulses are propagated by movement of ions across cell membranes, and communication among cells is chemical.Good luck with the project.
