Default How many mental health problems are caused by lack of proper food? - 01-03-2009, 08:40 AM

I answered a question just now about someone who was getting run down, and I always feel better when I am not living alone. There is some point in eating proper meals at proper times, but I cannot be bothered with it when I am alone.Could it be that good cooking could solve a lot of mental health issues, in particular depression and anxiety?

Yes I personally have lot of issues like head pressure etc when I am not on proper diet , when I eat well things get a lot better. Suggest you start eating well and find a good solution to eating well ..and also do alternative therapies like Yoga ....

Diet can impact everything to do with your health, however it is not the sole cause for mental illnesses. As in having clinical depression or bipolar or anxiety, eating a healthy consistant diet will HELP......just as will exersize, meditation/yoga/prayer, keeping a consistant schedual especially sleep, and other such things......but none of those will cure or do away with mental illnesss

When i am empty stomach, my mind was very angry. I couldn't control my anger and began shouting all the time. So, food has surely an effect on my mental health.

Mental health problems are extremely frequent during the recovery process. When people suffer from substance abuse and mental health disorders, we describe them as having a dual diagnosis disorder.perennial flowers
