Default This is not wingworm, could it be lyme disease? - 06-04-2008, 08:56 PM

Hello, my daughter has been breaking out with rashes for about 5 months. I took her to the emergency room and regular doctor. Both gave us medicines for wing worm. The medicine has not helped and no one else in our family has a wing worm. My mom broke out with a huge rash on her arm though about 4 weeks ago...But if this was wing worm, wouldn't she have broken out with it long ago? However, my daughter has been experiencing headache and muscle aches and always complains her heart is hurting. We live in Illinois. Has anyone heard of this? Please help...

Thanks a lot!
thank you so much! I have scheduled her to see a deem Dr. at university of Chicago. Thank you again! mush!

I think you mean "ringworm" and not "wing worm" this is a bacterial infection, ignore the name. You mother caught it because she just became infected. You have to keep hygienically clean and wash all the time when your around someone with this. It should have cleared up if the doctor gave up any good medication.
The other, headaches, muscle aches and a hurting heart isn't related to this, it could be something else.

I think you need a good physic all by a determined doctor.

I would suggest that instead of going to a regular doctor, you see your local dermatologist. Since she has a long-standing rash, it's time for you to get the right diagnosis. There are a few circular rashes that can have cardiac symptoms, along with the rash, and obviously this is important for her to be correctly diagnosed and treated. Since I practice in Missouri, I know of many good dermatologists in Illinois. Please have her seen.
