Default Can a wood tick (dog tick) transmit lyme disease? - 01-01-2009, 07:45 PM

One bit me about a year ago, and after describing symptoms I have been having a year later, my doctor suggested I may have Lyme disease. I am only 13. Did the wood tick give me Lyme disease?
I live in Maine, and the wood tick was in my hip overnight, unnoticed.

Maybe. The northeast has a very high relative risk of getting Lyme disease, but if you are sure it was a dog tick then it was not the tick, as dog ticks do NOT carry Lyme. Check out the two references I posted:
