Default Is there ANY way to find out if you have the hpv? - 08-17-2008, 10:29 PM

THC 4 answering. i really hope to run into at least one person who can give me an answer

quick story. about a week ago i started having painful urination and burning sensation. so i thought i better get checked up for stud's. and i did. they all came out negative.

now that my tests are showing no sign of std or UT, I'm left wondering what this could be. my pain full urination is almost gone and so is the burning sensation. so could this be HPV, something that they didn't test me for because they said there is no test for it.?

I dint know what to do, some people say it clears up on its own, some say that it never really leaves the body, and a few people are telling me that yea it actually does. I'm really scared because HOV can lead to serious cancers all throughout the body. is there anyway i can find out?

If you're a man, you're out of luck.

"There is currently no FDA-approved test to detect HPV in men. That is because an effective, reliable way to collect a sample of male genital skin cells, which would allow detection of HPV, has yet to be developed. In October 2009, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) did approve the use of the first HPV vaccine (marketed as Gardasil?) for boys or men age 9 through 26 for the prevention of genital warts caused by human gallimaufries (HPV) types 6 and 11."

No, I'm pretty sure there is a test for that, oh I guess only for women.

Either way, you need to go back to the doctor, or find a different doctor.

Ask the girl you had sex with if she has HOV. There is an HOV test for women, not men.

There is no standard FDA approved HPV screening for the male.

If you are still having the burning and painful urination...make an appointment with a urologist. They are ?other? things that can cause this burning and painful urination. When something hurt our body is telling us to find the answers?some answers are easier to find than other.

HPV can occur in the urethral meat us of the male.

You may want to see a dermatologist if you have anything unusual of the penis or scrotum....a urologist for the painful urination...and see if the virus is in the urethral meat us.

HPV is a virus that affects the skin and mucous membranes of the oral cervix and anal area. HPV is not a virus that is found in blood.

the research team reports that a viral replication protein known as E2 binds the circular viral DNA to cell structures called spindle fibers that are present in a cell when it divides, a process known as mitosis. In mitosis, a single cell divides in two, creating two genetically identical daughter cells. By latching onto the spindle fibers of the cell as it divides, HPV DNA also divides and replicates itself in each of the new daughter cells where it can continue to replicate and persist indefinitely.
?In effect, HPV is able to mimic our own chromosomes, behaving as a sort of ?mini-chromosome?, independently replicating and keeping pace as the cellular chromosomes replicate and the cell divides,? says Tom Broker, PhD, professor of biochemistry and molecular genetics and co-author of the paper. ?This allows the virus to remain in our bodies indefinitely, with the potential of causing serious disease years, even decades, after first exposure.?
Broker says that virtually all humans carry at least one type of HPV for much of their lives, usually transmitted to the external skin very early in life or to the internal mucosa lining later during sexual contact. For most people, the virus persists at low levels without causing obvious disease, and the body?s immune system keeps it in check.
However, in some people, the virus can become activated and cause lesions, particularly if the infected tissue is repeatedly injured, or following periods of emotional or physical stress, during pregnancy, as a result of immunosuppressive therapy for immune disorders or organ transplantation
