Default HPV is destroying my life? - 09-24-2008, 05:21 AM

I'm really depressed about having HOV, I'm only 18 and I feel like an outcast compare to everyone else. I have the feeling that I'm never going to be able to have a relationship and that I'm really dirty. The annoying thing is as well I'm not the type of girl to 'sleep about'. Will I have HOV for life?

unless they come up with a cure, you will have it for life...but the good news is that it isn't dangerous for men...when you find someone you truly care about, they will accept you and your HOV.

The below answers are absolutely not true and reflect a complete misunderstanding of HPV. My dear, your body will clear HPV. 90% of people clear HPV (meaning your body fights it off and cures it) within two years, more if you have other health issues. You will NOT have it for life. As someone who's body just cleared HPV, I can tell you it does happen. Please be sure to get regular pap smears and get checked regularly by your OBGYN (Find an OBGYN who is understanding and you feel comfortable with). Even if it's scary, doing so will help you avoid any complications.

You are not dirty. Most men are carriers but never have any symptoms. Most women will get HPV in their lifetime. Most of the people who you feel "outcast" from probably have it and don't even know it.

That being said, safe sex not only makes sense, it can save you from ever feeling like this again. Be sure to protect yourself by insisting on ALWAYS using a condom and/or dental dam. And, as always, the safest sex is no sex. Also, waiting to have sex with someone you love, and who loves you, can help make this process easier.

Finally, Ask your doctor if it still makes sense to get Cervarix and Gardasil, both are vaccines for HPV.

I hope this helps.

I feel it for you, I couldn't imagine what hell your going through. But you must remember, your still alive and you still have life to live, so live, don't exist! I wish you all the best and happiness for your future, you do have one, don't forget that.

HPV doesn't detract from your many desirable qualities, which have drawn people to you in the past and will continue to make you a great catch.

Do not worry about this. This infection goes by itself within one or two years. There so many people who are even not aware that they are suffering from such infection. It goes itself. This is true that there is no cure for this infection but you can recover fast if you take proper care.I would like to suggest you to eat following fruits as much you can .These will definitely help you.
Watermelon
Pink grapefruit
Papaya
Pink guava.
