Default How can my little niece gain weight without being aware of it? - 12-12-2008, 04:09 AM

My 5 year old niece is awfully skinny. It is because she is spoiled and terribly picky. Any suggestions to help her gain weight without her knowing it would be greatly appreciated!

Only have healthy foods in the house. If she's hungry, she'll have to eat it.

Being skinny isn't unhealthy, so long as you're active as well and I suspect either it's how she is naturally or she'll level out later in life. But if you want her to gain weight, foods with fat are the best as fats provide twice the energy of carbs which means that your body uses them slower and if you don't use all the energy they provide your body will store that energy.Just make sure you eat healthy fats - I don't mean give her fast food every day.

If she needs to gaint he weight, try talking to her about it'simportantce to her health. But, give her things that are really high oin fat that she likes. Make her favorite dessert more often, give her white bread is she likes it, things like that. Look at the label on all the foods she likes, find the ones with the most fat calories, and give them to her more often. Be sure to do this moderatly so that the weight comes on slow. Also, you can intoduce her to a new smoothie or milkshake, but secretly add in a little weight gain powder if you're really desprate!
