Default 3 questions about bolemia...? - 12-20-2008, 02:45 PM

Can bolemia kill you? Does bolemia increase your body fat. And what is the best way to lose 10 to 15 lbs?

Interestingly, most bulimics are in the normal/overweight range. I don't know about whether it increases your body fat (actually that doesn't make much sense to me) but long-time bulimics eventually corrode their esophagus because of the acid vomit coming up all the time. They will also have ugly teeth after a while - the acid from the vomit begins eating away at them. The best way to lose weight is DIET and EXERCISE. It's funny how no one wants to hear that - but it's TRUE. A muscular person loses more weight by doing nothing than a regular person does. (For example, a muscular person will burn more calories sitting down than a regularly-built person. How's that for incentive to work out?)Cut all sodas&other extraneous things from your diet... Drink a lot of water (it helps calm those irrational cravings for chocolate cake at night) and sleep early.

yes bulimia CAN kill you...but i believe in all things in moderation...most people will want to kill me for saying this...but if you dont make it a huge habit i dont think purging is really that bad...as far as increasing your body fat, i have NEVER heard of that....and the best way to lose weight is NOT by exercising...that will increase your weight because it adds muscle...cleans your body....a crash diet works best and flushing your body of yucky-ness....like with laxatives...

Yes it can kill you if you take it to the extreme and it becomes your lifestyle. It ruins your teeth, the acid that comes with the vomit erosions your teeth enamel making them more prompt to cavities. Added to that your body does not manage to digest any food when you are binge eating, these 10k of calories are completely unnecessary and will make you gain weight. The body fat increase is also a product of the binge eating, some people with bulimia lose a lot of weight but most gain or pretty much are up and down all the time. As said before, this is because partially, those calories are staying in your body.Third, to lose 10-15 pounds, do it the safe way eating a balanced diet, with fiber and vegetables, the best way of retaining nutrients is by steaming veggies, so you might want to try that... Also increase your daily excercises if you are already active, if not start little by little. The excercise will help you burn calories and by cutting down on sweets, carbs and fried food you are guaranteed to lose those extra pounds, and not only that but feel much healthier too.Good luck and stay away from any bulimic habits...!

Yes, bolemia is fatal. Yes, it does increase your body fat, as your body will instinctively start storing food because of what it thinks is starvation. The best way to lose the weight is to go to a gym once or twice a week, whenever your schedule allows it basically, and monitor what you eat. Spoil yourself occasionally, but not too much and soon the weight will drop off you like a pair of jeans.
