As the mother and sister of two developmentally delayed women I would have to say that it would depend on the degree of disability. I know people who are technically considered developmentally delayed because their IQ is a certain number on a scale but who have more wisdom and concern for people than others with much higher intelligence. I have know people with very high intellect who have become addicted to drugs or alcohol who have seriously neglected and abused their children. Where people with less intelligence have raised loving concern child to be great adults.
