Default Can my daughter stay at home for a few weeks before moving to a different school? - 06-25-2009, 03:32 AM

My daughter is getting bullied and wants to move school. I am letting her but she wants to stay at home till the easter holidays (the schools break up on april 3rd) then go to her new school. Is this possible? It's only two weeks away? Thanks. She can get some work though. She already knows all the people in her year at that school because of a friend from primary school so she is fine on that, all I'm asking is would I be allowed by the government? ------

Hello friends

I hate sending my sick child off to school to infect the rest of the children with germs but my kids' school requires a doctor's note if the child misses more than 3 days in a row of school. This means that once my child has been sick for a few days I must either send him off to school still coughing and blowing his nose or spend $20 for a copayment to take him to the doctor just to be told that he has a cold and it dosen't require a doctor visit. Usually I send them to school after the 3 days only to be called and asked to pick up my sick child, then they look at me like I am a monster for sending a coughing boogerheaded child to school. Don't they know that the common cold can last 7-14 days and that a child is usually not contagious after a few days unless they have a fever? I find this a frustrating dilema.

Thanks for all friends
