Default What is the best way to prevent me from getting skin cancer? - 12-14-2008, 10:19 PM
I am very frightened about getting this type of cancer. I am in the sun a lot and don't usually wear sunscreen, where I live it is very hot and the sun is always out really. I do have freckles and I read that it might mean I have a better chance of getting skin cancer. What is the best way to prevent it?

Go to the doctor for sure.He/She will look at your freckles or moles and if they see something they dont like they'll test it. Its best to get them check early so they dont spread.

Either wear sunscreen all the time, wear long sleeved clothes, or just avoid the sun any other way you can. Good luck, but I just love to hang in the sun. I never get burned so it's all good. Some people aren't like that though. I'm sorry.

wear sunscreen with a high SPF, make sure you keep it on by applying it every two hours and not washing it off, and then wear a hat and tell your doctor if anything weird happens

Start wearing sunscreen daily. Also see a dermatologist for a full skin exam. If you do get skin cancer it is easily treated in it's early stages.

Wear long sleeve shirts, like it or not wear sunscreen, and a hat that shadows your face.
