Default Could I have lung cancer?? Please help, I'm freaking out :(? - 11-04-2009, 08:38 PM

I'm 17 years old, and I started smoking in July when I was 15, but didn't start becoming addicted until I was 16, that's when I started buying my own packs. I am quitting!!!!! But I've been experiencing chest pains, back pains(which I always have, bad backs run in the family), headaches, and short breaths but only when I hit a cigarette sometimes.
Im so stupid for even starting and I'm shaking because I'm so scared.
If I stop now, hands down, start exercising more, eat healthier, etc...
Will the pain go away?
I don't care about lecturing Because I know some people will anyways, but I'm really being serious and need help.

In addition to stopping smoking, you should get a complete checkup from your doctor.

talk to your doctor,
and exercise will help a lot. take a walk outside smell fresh air wash your clothes or anything that smells like it start by cleaning out that smell and little by little things will come together.
now quitting wont be easy but don't give up!

if you had lung cancer you'd be coughing up blood. this answers your question:

How Quitting Improves Your Health

In just 20 minutes, blood pressure and heart rate return to normal. Within 24 hours, your heart attack risk begins falling. In the first weeks after quitting, tiny cilia (seen here) start back to work sweeping irritants out of the lungs. Within a year, your risk of developing heart disease drops to half that of people who still smoke. And after 10 smoke-free years, you're no more likely to die of lung cancer than someone who never smoked.

Lung cancer is really dangerous disease for all and they really had increase more problems because they spreading our body very fast. So avoid more smoking and tacking better treatment for that is really good to reducing more risk of lung cancer. Eating more healthiest food and avoid more junk food is really most important for all.
