Yes, its from "second hand smoke", and those that suffer had either Parents or some one else in the house smoking for a long period of time.

I used to "see" the smoke wafting around in the sunlight, when my Parents smoked and thought it was "cool"...

Now, I suffer from Asthma!

Not so "cool" after all, and I forbid anyone from smoking in my house!

Second hand smoke gives all kinds of lung diseases, and it doesn't usually show up until 20 + years after wards.

I wish you well...

Jesse

Since you didn't cite your source, we have no way of knowing whether your claim has any validity. Perhaps many people with lung cancer are FORMER smokers or people who were regularly exposed to second-hand smoke. But again, we have no way of evaluating your statement without a reliable source of reference to back it up.

Let me see if I have this right, your source is "Dana Reeves sister who is a doctor it is on her site and she called into Howard Stern"

Here are some facts from the American Cancer Association:

87% of lung cancer deaths can be attributed to tobacco use. (Source: Cancer Facts and Figures 2007)

In the United States, tobacco use is responsible for nearly 1 in 5 deaths or an estimated 440,000 deaths per year during 1995-1999.

Each year, about 3,000 nonsmoking adults die of lung cancer as a result of breathing secondhand smoke and causes an estimated 35,000 deaths from heart disease in people who are not current smokers.

U.S. Surgeon General Health Advisory

"Indoor radon gas is the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the United States and breathing it over prolonged periods can present a significant health risk to families all over the country. It's important to know that this threat is completely preventable. Radon can be detected with a simple test and fixed through well-established venting techniques."

Not a question.

Saying "this is true", doesn't make it so.

Even if it was, it doesn't diminish the carcinogenic effects of tobacco.

"Ten percent to 15 percent of lung cancer victims are non-smokers."

"Nonsmokers who are exposed to secondhand smoke at home or at work increase their risk of developing lung cancer by 20?30%."

Based on these, not so sure about your stats, but the numbers of non-smokers who develop lung cancer is a staggering number. Maybe 66 is the % of non-smokers who develop complications of smoking?
