the best treatment is bone marrow transplant which is very expensive and very painful.inspite of all think after transplant there are less chance of recovery.

I would strongly recommend UNMC in Omaha,NE. My son was treated for juvenile chronic myelogenous leukemia there. He was 1 yr. old. He had a 10% chance of living. He is now 11. He had a bone marrow transplant there and has done well. You need to act faster with acute leukemia, but it is more curable than the type my son had. People from all over the world go to that hospital. Even when other hospitals say there is no hope-people are cured there.

If you are near NC, Wake Forrest Univeristy Medical Center in Winston Salem or Duke University Med Center in Durham have excellent leukemia programs. I have been treated by both for aml. THe doctors are great and they have a lot of resources and clinical trials.

Combination chemotherapy. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has reported a 5-year-survival rate of more than 90 percent for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
