I know a lady that was pregnant and diagnosed with breast cancer. The baby was fine, she was treated and she is now fine.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 8 months pregnant. They induced me the next day and I gave birth to a healthy 8 pd 1 oz baby girl. I just completed the last of my treatment this past May and everything seems to be fine.

Now, I have talked to my Inc about having more kids and he said he wouldn't encourage it because I was er+, but I think there is a lot of debate over that issue. Some say it's OK, some don't, I have no clue. I am on Tamoxifen for another 3 years, so I feel that a lot can happen in these few years as far as finding out the answer to that question. They say no pregnancies when you are on Tamoxifen because it causes birth defects.

So like everything else with cancer, it's time to wait and see. Good luck, email any time you want and take a peek at my bog which deals mostly with breast cancer, but every day life stuff too, which I guess is breast cancer too.

A mammogram/sonogram indicated I had breast cancer on a Friday. Only two percent are diagnosed at the mammogram. Monday was the biopsy, Tuesday it was confirmed and on Wednesday they did the surgery. I had the new marmoset.com procedure and two weeks later I did not have cancer. It is not like it used to be. Yes, you can have children that are healthy but radiation will have limits on at what point you might want to try to conceive.

I have breast cancer and it depeneds on your dealing with estrogen and progestrone postive receptors. This will alter what type of chemo and treatment. Some chemotherapy drugs will alter our reproductive organs or pose risks with pregnacies.
It depends on type, treatment, and what your doctor says.......
Please remember to fight like a girl!

My advice is to get a DNA-check, based upon that an indication can be made whether your child is likely to get cancer as well. If your cancer is not hormone related, it should not effect your pregnancy, as far as I know. The therapy will. It is best to discuss this with your oncologist. I just finished using Herceptin and was advised to wait 6 months to get pregnant. Good luck!
