ET is a genetic disorder it cannot be cured.Theoretically you could have a bone marrow transplant but that would be worse then the disease.You should take an aspirin a day to prevent thrombosis (platelet cloging and blood clots) and if your doctor thinks so an added medication.Before any one tells you to take an herbal or other crap I challenge them to give a mechanism, a scientific explanation to explain how it works.

i have essential thrombocythemia too. as far as i know it can't be cured but it can be suppressed with medication (i.e. hydroxyurea). i'm 19 now and i found out i had it when i was 15. basically i've lived a normal life so far but i was put on hydroxyurea (chemo-drug) about 2 months ago because my spleen had an infarct clot. my platelet count used to be about 1.5 million but now it's 500,000 that i'm on hydroxyurea. i also take a baby aspirin along with the hydroxyurea so that i don't get any blood clots. answer back to this question i want to know more about ur condition, i've never met anyone else who had ET before. good luck with everything, and stay healthy.

Hi Suesunflower, how is your condition. There is a cure but not known to most people who suffer in silence and feel that the world has come to an end. The cure is pretty simple provided you believe in traditional cure
