No. however, the distinction between personality disorders and those that are not considered personality disorders is an artificial one, and most if not all categories of mental disorders will be changed as time goes on and they are better understood. We're still in the dark ages so far as understanding of brain disorders goes.

Personality disorders are more persistent than bipolar, whereas for many people with bipolar, they have well-defined episodes of illness, often separated by YEARS of no symptoms, even if they don't take medications.

No, but they are somewhat related. Bipolar Disorder may last for days and weeks at a time, where Personality Disorder may only last for a few minutes or several hours.

No it is not. Personality disorders are where normal personality traits have been taken to an extreme that is unhealthy or debilitating. They are learned behaviors that result as a need to cope with trauma in childhood.

Bipolar is an affective disorder and is a chemical imbalance in the brain... similar to diabetes in that diabetes is an imbalance if insulin, Bipolar is an imbalance of chemicals in the brain.

Bipolar can be managed well with medication alone but medications do not work at all for personality disorders and the only treatment is therapy to help the person understand and change their behavior and thoughts.
