What are the chances that my children will have autism? -

My fiance and I are planning on having children eventually. In his family, three of the five children have autism. My side is clear. What are the chances of us having a child with autism?

It may be worth having you and your husband go in for genetic testing. While they haven't found the genetic component yet that causes autism, your fiance's siblings may have Fragile X syndrome, which is a genetic disorder they can track, that can cause autism.Other than that, its hard to say where they haven't found the"gene"that causes autism yet... they say it is genetic, and with that many siblings with autism, I'm assuming your chances would be higher than normal, but its really anybody's guess.....
