He needed a wheelchair starting back in the mid sixties. He started to notice the effects when he was in his late teens or early twenties. Before he knew he was sick he didn't take things too seriously. He spent most of his early years in the pub. He would to a semesters worth of physic work the morning before it was do and still do better than teams of his colleagues who had spent everyday for months working on the same problems. When he realized he was sick he started to apply himself more.
