I've been on numerous drugs for my asthma since I was 5 and nothing seems to work. I'm also very depressed. I want it to all go away so I can be happy. Have you had luck with alternative medicine for these or other illnesses? ------

My son is athmatic and I had him tested for allergies. Turned out that the plants, dust and dander is what causes his asthma. So he is now on allergy shots and that is really helping him get healthy. We also use an air purifier and I vaccume LOTS (with a dyson cause that is the best on the market). Try to keep dust down.In the winter we use a humidifier to keep his throat moist and a dehumidifier in the summer so he isn't too moist...When Alex gets depressed about the meds he takes (hes eight and he has 4 pills, a nose spray, and 2 inhailers a day: plus his vitamin and vitamin C pill) we talk about the treatments that he is getting to stop his pills.Since starting the shots, he has only had one attack (in 6 months a great stride in getting better). He hates the weekly shots and he bruises really easly, but he is starting to see the difference it is making in his life. He will have to take shots for the next 5 years monthly, but it is better than a lifetime of pills. With asthma, you need to know your triggers, it will take time and patience, but as you learn what is causing this it will make you feel better. You just need to remember that this is a journey and will take time.Good luck. ------
