I didn't have allergies until age 20 -

I never had allergies before moving away from my hometown to go to college. While I love everything about my university, the location creates prime nuisances during allergy season.
Dr. Julie Chen of MakingHealthyEZ is a local doctor who specializes in integrative medicine. I am a regular follower of her and found this advice regarding allergies useful.
A teaspoon per day (with your tea or consumed alone) of organic raw honey and agave nectar are sweet options to get antioxidants that help to calm allergy symptoms.
As far as supplements go, fish oil, quercetin, stinging nettle, boswellia, vitamin D, and vitamin C have proven to be helpful in suppressing symptoms as well.
Vegetables and fruits low in sugar (like berries) are packed with phyto-nutrients that help your body stay less inflamed, which means less allergy symptoms.
Whenever my allergies start to kick in, I, personally, increase my consumption of fresh produce, vitamin C and vitamin D, and eat a teaspoon of organic honey before bed every night, and it has proven to be helpful and sufficient in calming my allergies.
