Eating after exercise is important as well. Your muscles need the raw materials to recuperate after your work out. A light meal or snack within 2 hours after exercise is perfect. The actual composition of the post-workout meal is a matter of some debatefor optimal glycogen replacement, most people recommend carbohydrates, but a certain amount of protein is needed for muscle repair and growth.
